The theme of "Heimat" is omnipresent and simultaneously controversial in today's context. Individual responses to it are multifaceted and defy a global perspective. Gerhard Handschuh structures the concept into four dimensions: spatial, temporal, social, and cultural. In this magazine, we place a special focus on the individual responses of socially disadvantaged individuals regarding their "Heimat". Our intention is to broaden the discourse and actively involve those who have been excluded so far. The proceeds from the sale of the produced copies were donated to social institutions advocating for the homeless in Cologne. When planning this donation, it was particularly important for us to involve the participants and seek their advice. The entire "Heimat" project is a voluntary social commitment without its own financial profit goals and was initiated in collaboration with Koray Er.
